Constraint Problems w/ Angles

I have a ridge plate I'm developing for a project (see attachment #1). I have it figured out except for one constraint that seems to keep changing on me. If you look at the image I've attached to this post you will see there is a gap that I'm having problems with. When I change the depth and width the gap dimension remains the same no matter how much I flex these dimensions. As soon as I start changing the angle that's when the gap dimension begins to change (see attachment #2). I would like it to remain consistent no matter what the angle is like it does when I change the width and depth.

So, can anyone figure out what step I'm missing?

Would you mind posting the family you want to flex? I am pretty sure I understand what is happening but it would be much faster for me to check if I could avoid recreating your family from scratch just to see if I am correct. Would be delighted to give it a shot if you would be willing to post your family.
