View Full Version : Enter gives last command
I don't know if this is already widely known but I notice that pressing Enter on the keyboard in Revit 2011 will deselect anything currently selected and activate the last-used command...
unless that last command was Delete, when pressing Enter deletes anything currently selected.

Even delete it will works,
when the last command is delete and you hit Enter again it will give you a symbol of "x' and then select anything then hit Enter so that the selected one will be deleted.
Try it coz it work here on me. I'm working on 2011 version.

Ah nice... now if only I could have an Enter key near the left side of the keyboard :)

Argh gees - you have way too many gadgets....you should get rid of some I reckon, can I have some?

ProbabIy just as well you can't see the rest of my desk then ;)
I'm a gadget hoarder else I'd be glad to distribute some among the needy - next to my new Apple Magic Trackpad and B&O 'phone I still have my 1986 Psion II Organiser.

Wow, an apple keyboard with a cord. That's a relic!

We have an RF keyboard and mouse in our conference room that's about the size of that Apple kb... $300 for the pair + receiver, and I hate using them with every fiber of my being. I don't care for the compact keyboards with no numpad, etc.
When I bought the iMac other Mac users warned me off the bluetooth keyboard and mouse and so I ordered the wired one, but without the numpad.
I was surprised that the little keyboard was actually OK.
For years I used a reconditioned original IBM PC keyboard (still working) and various Cherry keyboards - they do one which isn't too far off the IBM action.
In a cad setup standard PC keyboards get in the way for me as I've always used a pen and tablet.
What you can't see in the picture I posted is that everything is held in place by big blobs of Blu-Tack.

the enter key function is one of the simplest yet effective tips. i have been using this now for a couple of weeks and it has improved my workflow (and my workmates) yet again.
Thanks WS! :)

i found this thread from 2004...maybe autodesk does occasionally listen ;)
Your welcome.
How interesting - I wonder if that was where it came from?
It isn't a function I would normally associate with the Enter key but it's very nice all the same :)

anyone know a way to reprogram your keyboard to have the caps lock key acts as Enter and vice versa?

Try this:
http://www.randyrants.com/2008/12/sharpkeys_30.html
"SharpKeys is a Registry hack that is used to make certain keys on a keyboard act like other keys."
