View Full Version : Angled opening in wall - wall pattern issue

I browsed around here to figure out how to make an angled opening in my wall & found the answer. Now I face a new issue, and I've not found an answer yet...

I created a void which cuts the wall with an angle on one side. It looks great in plan, but when I go to the elevation, the angled part of the wall cut just shows as white. I can't seem to figure out how to get it to show the wall pattern instead of just white.

I've tried changing the view specific graphics settings, etc, but no dice. Any suggestions?

I attached plan & elevation views so you can see what I'm talking about.

Thanks!

I can remember when this foxed me as well ;)

The cut part of the wall display shows the default wall material which is usually grey but I guess you have changed it to white (as I have).

To have your wall hatch show on the cut parts just use the paint tool to paint the material on to the blank bits.

Unfortunately you can't 'pick' the material off the wall, that would be far too useful, so you have to know the finish and select it from the material drop down list when you click the paint tool (it's a tiny icon on the Modify panel just to the left of the big 'Move' crossed arrows icon).

Hope that helps.
