Hello,
I have a rooffamilie with a bearing and a finish layer.
At the borders of the roof I want only to extent (overhang) the finish layer.
Placing two seperate roofs on top of each other > the best way ?
I am looking for a more clever way.

if you only need to see it a section or detail view, use the edit cut profile tool on the finish layer. If you want it to show up everywhere, than yes, 2 roofs if the fastest way.
I have requested in the past for roofs to have the same capabilities as vertical compound wall, (ie the ability to "unlock" the individual layers.

Would be great if that feature became available

Reinforces the model it like you build it philosophy.

Hello
Thanks for reply.
I prefer to reinforce the quest of czoog.
The philosophy "model it like you build it" is in mho not consistent or bearable for Revit.
According to that philosophy, stacking walls, modifying top/base vertical layers, even cutting openings for windows and doors after putting up the full wall first .... must be considered as ... one big mistake ?
