Can you show an object beyond a wall as hidden lines?

I want to show the 2nd string of my stair beyond a wall as dashed...anyway?

Use the "hide/isolate" tool to hide the wall in front of the stair that you want to show. Then use the "linework" tool to change the line type of the stringer to "hidden". Then reset the hide/isolate tool so that the wall is no longer hidden.

you can also just switch to wireframe, then switch back after you used the linework tool.
