View Full Version : Creating pipe network from object/adding pipes

Hello,
I like using the "Create Pipe Network from Objects" but have a couple of questions.

1. Is there anywhere to change the defaults to check on "Vertex elevations" and then set the default to "Invert"?

2. Even though I have the structure set to Null, I still seem to always get a sanitary sewer manhole at each end of the pipe. I am trying to use this to add all of the existing cross road pipes and entrance pipes to the drawing. This is along roadways with open ditches.

3. Is there any way to add a pipe to an existing network by selecting an object (like there is this option for creating a new network)? Like I said above, I have been using this to put in existing entrance pipes and I would prefer to NOT have each single pipe be it's own network. Our last project was 4 miles long and had 96 entrance (driveways) and cross road pipes.

Thanks

Daryl

1) Not that I'm aware of.
2) Check your parts list. It probably has that particular style set for the nul structure.
3) In 2011, you can merge two pipe networks. Create the new network from your new polyline and then merge them together.

Thanks Brian,

I had accidently picked the wrong parts list, (I used the "Storm Sewer" out of the box), and it's Null was set to Sanitary Sewer Manhole.

On the merging of Pipe networks I will try that when I get to the point of adding pipes to this project.

I see that you are teaching a class at AU this year. I have a different class scheduled in that time slot, but maybe we could could talk sometime.

Thanks again for your help.
