I've tried to Transfer Project Standards but there is nothing to pull from. Do I need to have a family open and not just a project? Thanks.

Yes--copy/paste from Family to Family.

TPS won't work with Families.

But I believe you can open a family template ( .rft ) and copy into an .rfa

cheers

**edit** as stated below you can't actually "open" a family template--
just use the template when creating new families..............

You cant open an .rft at all. You have to change the extension to .rfa and open it.

Well, you can "open" a .rft when creating a new family.........

Then copy/paste into another family. But no Transfer Project Standards.

see attached.

That is only specifying the family template you want to use to start the new family. Got to Save or Save As first thing and you'll see that the new family is FamilyX.rfa with no options to change to any other file type.

Thats no different than creating a new Project from a template.

if you want to OPEN your rft (to add Shared Parameters to it, and reference planes, so that people ge tthem when they start a certain family type USING an rft) then you need to change the extension and open it as an .rfa.
