Shadows on plan view?

I'm trying to do some solar analysis and it would be really helpful to have the shadows show on the plan view, but that option isn't available in a plan. I think I've seen something about this before, but the forum search isn't working (it says you have to have at least 3 words, even when I expand the search up to 8 words).

The only way is to use a "Standard 3D View" and use the View Cube to get a "Top" View, then turn on the shadows... :beer:

shadows work in plan views, elevations, sections, model views, model callout views, camera views...........
Make sure you are not in Wireframe Mode.

Its not the number of words that is the problem, its the number of letters in each word. It will not search of words with less than 3 letters. Although, if you put the whole phrase in quotes, it will search for the entire phrase. i.e. Shadows on plan view won't work but "Shadows on plan view" will work.

...and not in consistent color mode. For some reasons the other modes display my colors very dark, this happens occasionally, I´ve forgotten how i solved it last time..........
