I have a x64 workstation that is having issues with Revit Arch 2011. The application launches but opening up a existing/new drawing it hangs for 10-20 minutes with not responding. I've tried opening the same drawing on another machine and it opens in a matter of seconds. Repairing and Reinstalling Revit Arch from scratch shows the same symptoms. I've tried the end task WSCommCntr2.exe without any success. Does anyone know why its hanging or experienced the same issue?

It sounds like a path is screwed up somewhere. SInce you reinstalled it and are getting the same problems, I'd guess that a path was changed on the other machines but not this one. It's still looking for something in the default folder.

Just click on this link and follow the instructions as per the website. Been getting a lot of people contacting me about this and this is the only solution.

We have SEVERAL machines that- in addition to the Commcenter file deletion- we had to go in to the Registry, and delete the entire Revit Profile. Once quick delete, and the app is back to working completely like normal.

Turns out it seems to have some correlation to Windows Update, and .net.

If you have the RPC All Access library on the computer that could be the reason it's failing. This was fixed by WU2 though.

I solved the problem.
UI State.dat may be corrupt.
