When a Revit model view is exported to AutoCAD, it exports it as a 3d solid. If you don't want a 3d solid, but a 2d representation instead, drag the view on to a sheet and export the sheet view to AutoCAD. The titleblock, etc will be placed in paper space and the view will be placed in model space as a 2d block.

Thanks very much for the post, this one solved a major headache in our current project. Having to create the 3D view, export to CAD, recreate the view in CAD (from the solid), flatten, save, then import back into a Revit drafting view was exceedingly painful. I think it's about time that this process become completely integrated into Revit; after all, if we can flatten and export a 3D view in-sheet to a CAD block, why can't we simply "export" that view straight to a drafting view?

it's already there, "Freeze Drawings" from Extensions Manager

If you didn't know already. How are users to make the connection with the name "Freeze Drawing". Doesn't sound like flatten view to me either.
