View Full Version : distance between numbers and text

In the type properties of my (default linear style) dimension there is a 'text offset' parameter which specifies the distance at which any added text will be displayed.

When i drag the little positioning dot over to the left or right to nearer the dimension's extension lines (as is often the case so things remain easily readable) it causes the numbers/text to snap closer together.

Normally it doesn't bother me as it's hardly noticeable at scales smaller than 1:100, but i am drawing some stair details at 1:20 and 1:10 and this 'snapping closer together' effect is irritating me!

So, my questions are-

Can I stop this behaviour?
Can I turn off the leader line or change the distance at which it automatically appears? (I suspect I already know this answer)

I have attached a small jpg as an example
(for the record i dont usually write 'tread' for every tread, this IS just an example where i have also changed text background to transparent, for visual clarity.)

I always have the text offset set to 0 mm´s to avoid this isue ;)
Probably not what you wanted to hear, but there´s no other way to adjust them equally. (that I know of)
