Can anyone tell me where i could get a cranked beam family, or if there's even such a thing? I'm not strong in family creation so i'm hoping someone can help me out with this. If there's an easier way to make cranked beams, i'm open to try anything.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Did you found a caranked beam family?
I have a similar issue, I am new with revit and I need to model a cranked beam, please help.
Thanks

Not sure if a family is what you are working with. If you are just trying to make something like what I have attached all I did was just use the regular beam family and then just change offsets of the end of the beam. Obviously you could have some reference planes to control where the bends in the beam are in plan.97127

Oh, you mean a rigid frame or a bent.
Don't need to do it as a family but if you have lost of them I'd suggest creating it as one or you can use model in place.
You can use an in-place family using a sweep or a blended sweep. Draw your path, pick your profile (beam shape, should be able to find it in the out of the box content) and your done. Depending on what the ends need to look like you may need to cut back the ends to get plumb cuts.

I would recommend not using sweeps if you intend on using the revit schedules, it wont pick these up. Otherwise the sweep is a simple quick option.
You need to model each piece, trim them together, and then create a group and copy your group around - assemblies work well for this option if you need to document them in detail.
