Sweep above opening

I placed a sweep (build>component>model in place) but it does not cut through the brick wall. How is this accomplished?

Did you use the "Modify > Cut Geometry" tool on the wall before exiting the In-Place command ?

I had to do a in place void sweep first, finish model, then do it again with an in place sweep. Is that what you meant? it seems strange to have to model in place twice just for one sweep. Makes me think I am missing something. I shouldnt complain, it did work nicely. Thanks!
