View Full Version : Model Extremely Corrupted
I've been working on a model for several months. The last few weeks I'm constantly getting an error message (see attachment). This error message appears when I try to delete or modify certain walls or when i try to create a new section. This has hampered the project so badly that we aren't able to meet the deadline. And to make maters worst, we are in the process of transferring this project to Autocad since we are not able to even modify, delete or move walls. Sending this model to Autodesk isn't an option since I'm not in the USA and can't afford a delay. Has anyone experienced this problem?

1. Did you actually try moving eveything to a new file as the warning suggests?
2. Did you open the Central File and Audit it?
3. Have you gone thru all the Warnings and tried to resolve them?
4. I suspect there is a corrupt family inside the project that is causing the problem.
5. If everyone approves--try Purging the Project, and ALL the Families inside of it.
good luck!
cheers

what process are you going through after getting this error message? Saving as a recovery file then opening it, doing a save as to a new file name and then opening that file? I had this same error about a month ago on a model that I've also been working on for some months. I followed the above procedure and when opening the recovery file I got another error message that a certain entity was corrupt and it would be deleted. So be it, the file then opened without any problems and I've (knocking on wood) haven't had any problems since.
Saving as, doesn't resolve the problem. At one time i've done 8 consecutive save as, but that didn't help. While i'm wrting this tread, I audit the central file and that seems to work for now. I've been auditing the local file which didn't help. I'm going to run sum further tests....

Regularly create new Local files from Central, and Audit the central regularly.

It could just be a graphics issue. Try turning off hardware accelleration and reopening your file.
