I have a linked model that I need to open and copy elements from and bring them into our model. Revit won't let me open it in the same instance, and I can't copy and paste from one instance to another. How can I get around this? Thanks.

You can Select the Linked model, then Tab to the item to be copied, hold down Cntrl Key, tab again, etc. then copy to clipboard, and then paste to same place. It should then paste the elements into your model.

This can all be done without unloading your model, which will kill every view template controlling the linked model.

No need to unload the link. Go to a view TAB to select the element you want to copy and Ctrl C. Then use Paste Aligned > Same Place. You know have live elements in your project.

Looks like Scott and I were typing at the same time.

It wont kill them if you just unload... Itll only kill them if you remove.

But yeah, you dont have to close the Linked Model just to copy and paste.
