Columns in Groups ???

Why when a column is in a group can't you change the Levels ??
You have to take the column out of the group edit it and then put it back. Loosing annotation in the process.

Is this by design or just a glitch / bug ??

That is correct, vertical elements in a group will associate to the nearest level but will maintain their original length (which will create an offset at one end of the element)

For multi storey projects working with groups, I always separate the floor plates from the vertical elements for this reason

And it is often more work than help grouping elements like columns from my experience
