I was just wondering if it's at all possible to make a linebase family file that can be repeated again and again based on how long you draw the line for it. Like, if I had a detail of a post and a rail that was say 10 feet long, is it possible to make it so when I draw the line for the family in my project, that every 10 feet it would draw this post & rail, and then if I made my line say 20 feet long, it would repeat it and draw the family file twice in a row. Don't know if this is something possible or not? Thanks

It is a matter of using array in the family, see Revit documentation.

Using array in the family as a parameter or something? What should I search for in Revit Documentation? just "Array in families"? Thank you

Also, I don't know that I made it real clear, but the reason I need to be able to do this is so that I can put a rail for a roadway along the edge of the shoulder and have it able to follow both a vertical & horizontal curve. That's why I was hoping I could make it a linebased family so that I could just select the line I want it to follow in my project and have it create the post & rail detail and then repeat itself along the line I selected so the posts are spaced say every 6 feet or something.

Hi,
Can't you use the railing comand on the Home Tab?

Just tried using the railing command. It does not work because when you try to pick a 3D line that slopes vertically it creats a horizontal line instead
