i just can't figure this one out - searches, manuals, help :)

imported cad dwg

want to pask a small part of it

masking reguion blots out dwg and new revit components

how do i just cover u a small element of the dwg only?

You can't

Editing the CAD drawing is the only way

hmmmm - seems like it could be useful, in this instance I just moved the drawing 10mm beneath the level so that the floor (where there is one) could obscure it.

would like a masking region with level and view depth awareness!

I often have to mix scanned bitmaps of old drawings with imported dwg files and new Revit content all in the same View when working on areas of old buildings.

I find that if you partially explode the imported dwg (but I've not tried this with really big files) then you can selectively remove parts.

Also by selecting the masking region and in the Option bar choose 'send backward' or 'send to back' the masking region will still cover an imported bitmap but not the new Revit content nor the dwg import.
