keynote or tag a linked revit file

Is it possible to keynote or tag elements/materials in a Linked Revit file? If yes please help ...

It lets me add a keynote but will never actually add the keynote information. Basically gives me leader and an empty bubble

which version of Revit are you using? In Revit 2011, some linked file tagging is available, but remember it is still tagging the information from the linked file, which has to be changed in the linked file. For example, a Door tag...the tag can now exist in the linked file, but in order to change the data in that tag, you would have to do it in the file where to door exists.
