I hope I'm asking in the right place. Here's my dilemma:
I work for a structural engineering firm, and we do a lot of drawings that have section cuts that refer to details. All I want to do is make it so that whenever I move a detail to another numbered location, it will automatically match that number in the section cut. For example, I might have a cut through a wall that's detail 5 on page S-3.3. When I change the number on the detail from 5 to say, 12, I want it to automatically change it in the section cut text, too. Here's a bonus...most of the time, our details will be in a separate file. So it's not just matching text, but more of a data extraction issue...I think. lol Both scenarios happen, though...and I'd love some hints on how to accomplish either task. Thanks!
