I've received dwgs with the same line types in diffrent dwgs, but when I plot them on comes out dark @ .80 and the other does not eventhough it to is set ot .80
Any help would be appriciated!
thanks

You are a bit skimpy on info. Are the drawings CTB or STB based? Are the objects properties all ByLayer or are some properties assigned per-object? What are the objects Lineweight property set to? What type of object?
Perhaps you could zip up a drawing with the two objects in question.

None of the Properties are bylayer they are all specific to the lines in the dwg. Both the line weights in the drawings are set ot .80 but on prints out properly while the other is printing thin. As for CTB or STB how do i check

EDIT the CTB / STB file and verify that USE object linewieght is on if by object
if some other weight is specified that is what will print.
Verify the correct setting for the layer, or objects.

If name-based styles (STB) are used, you Layer Manager will show names that you can change in the Plot Style column. See attached screen shot.
Again, what type of objects? Why haven't you posted a drawing with the two objects?

the blue match lines are the ones giving me trouble. on sht 06 it works 03 it does not

In Sht03, the match lines are just plain lines and the lineweight was set to 0.0. In Sht06 the correct matchline is a block with the lineweight of the line within the block set to 0.8. Either someone exploded your block in Sht03, or didn't follow your company standards.

When I see them in the object properties tool bar the line says .80. Another company sends us these dwgs to make minor corrections. This is what I got. so if I Write block the line in 06 would and then inserted it into 03 would that work?

Open Sht03. Select the blue matchline Line object in the upper right of the drawing. The lineweight is set to 0.0. Where are you seeing a different lineweight?
The other matchlines in that drawing all have different properties. I guess that shows why properties on a per-object basis is usually a bad idea. I would advise using the match properties tool using one of the good matchlines in that drawing to set the properties of all the other matchlines.

That is the thing, none of them work, even the ones that say the are .80 I've even tried to cut and paste the one from 06 and that did not work either.

The upper right match line is simply a line, so can have a lineweight assigned directly to it. The other 3 matchlines are all a block, so you need to edit the block to set a lineweight (preferably to ByBlock). I'm sure glad I don't work with these guys; the drawings are terrible from a standards viewpoint.

Hi
However produced them drawings should have them returned and told to correct/fix their very poor CAD work (in my humble opinion). There is no consistence between the two "sample" drawing files.
Sht03.dwg ->
3 No Blocks named MATLN on Layer Level 12 (within Layer Dialog Box Level 12 has Lineweight set to Default); 2 No Lineweight = 1.4mm; 1 No Lineweight = 0.8mm
1 No Line on Layer Matchline (within Layer Dialog Box Level 12 has Lineweight set to 0.8mm); Lineweight = 0.0mm
1 No Polyline on Layer Matchline (within Layer Dialog Box Level 12 has Lineweight set to 0.8mm); Lineweight = Bylayer
Sht06.dwg ->
5 No Blocks named MATLN on Layer Level 12 (within Layer Dialog Box Level 12 has Lineweight set to 0.0mm); Lineweight = 0.8mm
15 No Lines on Layer Level 12 (within Layer Dialog Box Level 12 has Lineweight set to 0.0mm); Lineweight = 0.8mm
Objects should really have their properties set Bylayer.
If going down the Lineweight route I personally think Named Plot Style Table (STB) files should be adopted.
System variable PStyleMode will tell you the kind of drawing file you have ie
PStyleMode = 0 Named Plot Style Table (STB)
PStyleMode = 1 Color-Dependent Plot Style Table (CTB)
Have a good one, Mike
