I'm having issues with selecting all objects in a drawing and changing their color using the drop down list on the Properties toolbar. When I select only a portion of the objects in the drawing it allows me to change the color. When all objects are selected I am unable to change the color using the drop down list. Also when all objects are selected the current active color shows up as ByLayer in the drop down list instead of going blank due to all the objects selected not being set to ByLayer. The layer drop down list also shows the current active layer instead of going blank due to all the objects not being on the same layer. This is only happening on some computers and not others so it leads me to believe this is some setting that can be changed. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

If your goal is to set everything to color ByLayer, you might use QuickSelect to find Multiple objects that have color not-equal-to ByLayer and then change those objects. As for why you can't do that by selecting All, I don't have an answer.

I'm seeing some reports of this problem popping up, although I haven't seen it yet. (The number of times I've wanted to set the properties of all entities through the properties palette could be counted on the thumbs of one elbow) I _have_ wanted to change the color of everything in a drawing to BYLAYER, and the quickest way I've ever done that is with the CHPROP command...
CHPROP <space>All<space><space>C<space>BYLAYER<space><space>
(bylayer is normally the default option, so hitting <space> instead of typing in BYLAYER normally works.
SETBYLAYER works too, but actually takes longer if you check the settings to ensure you're only changing what you want to change, but are changing that..
I am curious though -- are people hitting a limit to the number of objects the properties palette can handle? or is it a glitch that only shows up when everything is selected, regardless of the number of object?
What happens if you select everything, and then de-select some? or gradually increase the size of the selection set? is there a magic number that stumps Acad? Are we talking 500 entities in the drawing? 50,000? 900,000,000?
