I have 2 similar buildings that are separate project files. They share some groups like balconies, storage rooms, etc. with each other. I've updated these groups in one project and now would like to copy them over to the other project and simply redefine.

What's the best way to do this? I tried copy & paste, but it wants to rename the group in the target project, so that doesn't achieve my goal of just redefining the same group.

Is the only way to link them out and back in again? Just seems like a lot of steps to do this; Link out from project A, open project B, link group in to project B, bind links in both projects so they become groups again and walls clean up.

Plus, on some groups I loose info (like walls) when I link out then bind again.

Jon
Just copy the group across
Paste it in, giving it a new name
Right click on the old groups, & then swap it out for the New Group
Delete the New Group & then Rename the changed groups to the Old name

Thanks. Just tried that and it works well.

To keep my group names still consistent between projects I renamed the old group first (storage01OLD) and then pasted in the updated group.

I know it's 6 of one & half dozen of another from what you said. Just makes more sense to me that way. :)
