Seems like EVERY TIME i make a new family where I nest a family, and then an array of the nested family that I run into this same issue - Length (or width) parameter never flexes. Each time I set my parameters to intstance, I lock the family to ref. planes, and when I try to flex it I get an error stating that constraints are not satisfied. And, usually the array disappears, or all instances of the nested family become placed on top of one another (i.e. identical instances in same place).
By now (6 years into this Revit thing) you would think I could make this work....but for whatever reason I nearly always run into this. Is there a sure fire way to make this work? In other words, what is the trick to getting generic families to be arrayed and flex. My particular family is a line based family of a shelf that is nested and arrayed to become a set of shelves with adjustable height, and shelf count.
thanks.
