So we got a request from a firm we're working with about being able to see Room Tags etc in a 3D-view, is this possible in any way?
(We're exporting our Revit 3D-views to Autocad 2007 3D-files which they want)

Would it possible to Annotate the 3D-view with a Floor Plan or something like that?

edit: They'd also like to be able to see door-openings etc, which they can't as they are detail lines. Changing them to Model Lines would make them visible, but I don't see this as a viable solution.

Revit 2012 allows for tagging within a 3D view . . . .but apparently tagging rroms is not an option.

From the Revit 2012 User Assistance guide....

The following tag types are not allowed in a 3D view:

Material tags
Area, Room, and Space tags

Anyone know why? Can Autodesk shed some light? Can we hope to expect these capabilities in the next release?

It probably wasn't defined well enough in the 'Wishlist' for tagging in 3D to include material, area, room & Space tags, so the programmers didn't bother. It might be difficult code to get this to work as well. I suggest searching the wish list first, then if there isn't a post for this yet, create one. In 3-6 years, we might get it this ability.
