View Full Version : Roof & Ceiling Base Level Constraint vs. "Real" Framing

Anyone know why Revit doesn't insert roofs and ceilings at the core boundary? I find that despite setting the core boundary of my roof and ceiling types at the face of framing, which is where they would bear on a plate, Revit models them bearing on a finish line (if the type includes one). For example, if I create a level that represents a top plate line and model a flat roof assembly with a GWB finish, the roof is placed the thickness of the finish above the top plate unless I offset from the base. If one is supposed to use Revit as if one were actually assembling a building, this doesn't make sense.
