Hi,
I have done Multi Family Projects in the past using Acad
and other public building projects in Revit.
I am now currently assisting my new employer with
a 120 units-multi family project where only a handful
of us here know how to run Revit.
Before getting to deep into the project, I just
wondering what other experts here have done
in terms of settings for such repetitive elements
which are constantly change at the design phase,
yet demand CD work hafl-way done in the background.

I am inclined to use shell/core set-up for façade
manipulation freedom. Wondering if there are much
well-thought and better options available out there.

Please chip in your opinions. Thanks.

Hi,

I am encountering something similar. I have a Multi-Family project with 300+ units and 5 stories and a 4 story garage. Did you get to figure this out?

One tip I've heard is to use groups where possible.

One tip I've heard is to use groups where possible.

Just be careful how you use them.
If you have a 60 story tower with identical floor plates, make the whole floor a group.
When the design phase in complete, I'd suggest you ungroup as much as you can. Putting things that are hosted objects in groups can end up having bad results.
We do a lot of healthcare facilities where we have multiple patient rooms that are the same. We never put doors, or walls in those groups. Group also add a lot of extra data to the model as each group acts like it's own family.
I've also seen floor plates done as linked models where you can simply copy the instance of the link to multiple locations.
