Has anyone seen an addon that will give me the ability to turn off a layer of a linked in CAD file like the old AutoCAD express tools freeze layer?

Right now I am opening the linked drawing in AutoCAD, figuring out the layer name and then going into Visibility Graphics to turn off the linked in Layer visibility.

No add-on is needed - Revit already has that ability.

Select the CAD link in your Revit project, then select Query, then pick a line that you want to turn off, then "Hide in view".

If you want to turn off an entire layer from a linked CAD file, you can go to Visibility/Graphics for the view where you want the layer to be off, go to the "Imported Categories" tab, click the "+" next the name of the CAD file with the layer in it, and then uncheck the box next to the layer.

Also, keep in mind that when you're importing the CAD file in the first place, you can choose to import all or only some of the layers. That way there are less to sort through later.

Actually, the 'Hide in view' turns off the entire layer.
