My firm is starting a project in Revit 2011, but our consultants want to work in Acad. One of them is using Acad Architecture -- the object oriented version with walls, doors, windows etc.The Revit to Acad translator as far as I know, translates into straightforward Acad: lines instead of walls, blocks instead of objects............

Is there a way to get Revit to translate into Acad Architecture? Or are we stuck with plain vanilla lines and blocks?

You can export a Revit 3d model while in a 3d view, to a 3d dwg file. There are two options, one by polymesh which exports everything as faces, or by ACIS solids. I don't know if that gets you where you want to be.

You're headed down a very unfulfilling path. Translations are always messy, depending on what you want to achieve which usually happens to be more than what is possible without a lot of cleanup.

You could use IFC but i have with the unfulfilling comment. :)
