View Full Version : Sheet View changed to Drafting View; how do I get my sheet back?

I'm actually working in RST2011, but I think this may be a general Revit issue...

I was in a Sheet View, SF501, named Structural Sections and Details, adding my details and drafting views.

I decided in my Project Browser, several of my drafting views needed a new "Type." I selected (3) drafting views and clicked <Edit Type>, <Rename> and typed in the new name for the drafting view. When finished, I now had (4) views listed of the new type. One of which I was not expecting; it was bold (as the current view) and was named the same as the Sheet View, Structural Sections and Details.

(wish I would have clicked "Undo" here, but I didn't.)

I actually read about this phenomenon on another post, so quickly, I checked my Sheets for my SF501 sheet ... it was gone. Then I checked my Sheet List Schedule ... it's still listed.

The current view I'm in looks EXACTLY like my lost Sheet View, but it's no longer listed with my sheets. I can change the number on the sheet (in the drafting view) and it updates in my Sheet List Schedule. If I edit the sheet number in the Schedule, it updates in my drafting view.

I would like to have my sheet back in my Sheet Views. How can I do this???

Wow! I actually replicated that somehow. That's definately gotta be a bug! No way to get that sheet back with the sheets that I can see. Have you filed a support request? Wonder if that's still gonna be there in the next version.

As a workaround, I was able to delete the "new" drafting view. This deleted my original sheet from my Sheet List Schedule. I then re-created the Sheet View.

I did log the issue with Autodesk and they've informed me that Development is aware of the issue and is working on it; though there is no timeline for when the issue will be fixed.
