View Full Version : Transparent fills on siteplan

This is a strange one, but I am at wits end. We have been using transparent solid fill regions to apply colour to plan for the masterplanning stage of a project, in combination with an assortment of filters and Vis/Graph settings (solid colour floors, solid colour retaining walls etc.) This works well (at masterplanning stage anyway) since any model element set to a solid fill overrides any transparent fill region.

The problem I have run into is in relation to walls, topography and above-mentioned fill regions suddenly not working as expected. Previously, where an in-place wall family (used to create sloped retaining walls) cut into the topography, the filled region overlay would 'colour' the topography and leave only the visible, above-ground retaining wall as its Vis/Graph override (solid). Since moving the topography around due to site changes, suddenly I see a blank white patch over the buried retaining wall (beneath topo surface), where previously the solid fill region showed. The override for the retaining wall works still, but only for the above-ground portion of the wall (as it should), but now suddenly I have additional white patches anywhere I have a buried section of retaining wall. See the attached.

Extremely frustrating, since this system was working fine, and still is on a backup model. I've cross-checked, audited and double-checked new topo settings, but cannot for the life of me find the difference. Not sure if anyone has ever experienced anything similar, but thought I'd put it out there.

Hope you can help guys!

Possibly a change in the view settings, i.e. hidden line to wireframe?
