3ds max editable poly to autocad solid.

hello everyone.
i've been designing a concrete footbridge in 3ds max 2011 using the edit poly method. I end up with a clean volume composed of only triangulated faces.I then want to use this model in acad 2011 to use the great section plane tool and generate various drawings for the engineering team.
i used dwg to send the "form" from max to acad. it shows up fine in acad but I can't make a section out of it and i can't convert it to solid... any ideas or workflow to help me do that?

Try Modify Menu --> Mesh Editing --> Convert to Faceted Solid or Convert to Smooth Solid as you like.

Mesh needs to be close and not intersecting for the conversion to be successful.
