Columns filled when viewing in course display?

Can structural columns be shown filled (Solid fill pattern) when you set your display to course. Similar to Course Scale fill pattern...

My first thought was to go to the family and add a fill pattern and adjust its visibility, but there is no option for fill patterns.

Any thoughts?

The column cut fill pattern problem has been with us for some time.
You need to make a detail component that is a filled region with the same shape and parameters as your column and then nest it into your column family and assign the shape parameters before reloading into your project..
