I have been using AutoCAD for years and recently been working on a mac with parelles which sucks, now that Autocad has a mac version I've have been TRYING to use it. The problem I am having though is the most basic of ALL functions just doesn't work. The properties box.
I can click on a line or object or anything and then go to the properties and try to change its color, or its line weight or hell ANYTHING in the properties window. Yet nothing happens, or if I'm really really lucky it will set the next line I use to those settings but that happens rarely. The issue is NOT the pickfirst option that works just fine.
I'm a masters student starting my final study in one month and NEED this simple simple feature to work.I have read "how to's" to do exactlly what I want but doing the exact thing they write still doesnt work. I have reinstalled the program several times so I doubt that I have a corrupt version.
Is there anyone here who has had this problem and fixed it? Or is there a setting that is turned off by default in Mac's version that isn't in windows? Because despite its location the layers still basically work in the same fashion.
If anyone wants to a video showing how exactly someone can create a floor plan and then change line weights, color, and line types, etc would be awesome. There is no way in hell Autodesk would ever release a product that doesn't do these tasks.

Thank you all for your responses and reading through.

I'm going to jump in here ask about your procedures more than trying to help with the palette not working. Why are you changing these object properties on a per object basis? Couldn't you set them to appropriate layers? I feel this would improve your speed by layering the drawings properly instead of changing object properties to suit your needs.

I would think they would allow you to change properties from the command line (if there is a command line in the mac version). This would be more of a work around to the palette not working properly.

I'm able to make changes in the properties dialog box, & I have not customized it, so I don't think it's to do with some setting that's been turned off. However I don't think I can help you beyond this as I'm new to the mac version. Good luck!

I believe that Lineweight is a print function, I would not show up as changed on the screen. If you have a line, or group of lines and want to change the layer it is on, select the items then go to layers and change the layer, the items are now on a new layer. I always set my layers and their properties first, then change items accordingly.
