On a large multi-facility multi-user project, we need to have the ability to be able to create a "template" file with our Clash Detection Batches all set up, our rules all in place, and our sets lined up with our batches, and then we need to be able to LOCK them down so users don't get in and accidently change a batch selection.
All it takes is a simple click here or a click there and you have more clashes than you think you should have. If you're electrical and you want to see the clashes between electrical and architectural but, you accidently hit mechanical, now you've got a completely different report.
VERY frustrating for a BIM Manager.
For our template file, I've created a bare bones NWF file with the batches, rules, and sets all set up in it. Then I can start a new model with that as my base and rename it for each model. I'd still like to be able to lock those parts in place though.
When we change a rule or a batch, we change it on all our models for this particular project so we can do the same reports on every facility. Making a template file for NWF's would make this task a lot easier to work with.
