I can't seem to delete line styles?

I am trying to delete line styles that were added as part of a DWG import. I have deleted all traces of the original DWG import and have deleted the unwanted line styles from "Line Styles Settings". Then after awhile the lines reappear in the "Line Styles" list. I believe that they reappear after I close and reopen the drawing, but I'm not quite sure because I swear that they sometimes reappear even if I have not closed out of the file and of course I save the file immediately after I deleting the lines.

Also, deleting the lines one-at-a-time is a real pain/chore... why does the "delete" option become unavailable if you select more than one line type? I did a search and there was a "Wish List" item that asked for the line styles to be included in the "Purge Unused" tool. I would like to reintroduce this item as a wish list item or at least allow one to select multiple line styles for deletion.

BTW... I'm referring to 6.1 in the above so... if 7.0 has addressed these issues I apologize!

That might sound stupid, but are you (by any chance) re-importing or re-introducing these line styles in something else (like some other "innocent" object "infested" with them)?

That must be... somehow.
There are several things (2D of course) that are left from the DWG import... although I have changed the line properties to those I've made in Revit there must still be something that triggers the reappearing line styles.
