I would like to be able to change the location line for multiple walls at once. If I select 3 or 4 walls I can do this, but when I select all the walls in a project (there are 465 in my particular project), the location line in the properties window is greyed out and I can't change it. we are using worksets and I have made all the elements editable. I'm using Revit Architecture 2011. Any Ideas? thanks.

Is the wall being used as a curtainwall infill panel anywhere? That would result in this behaviour. Open a 3d view, turn off curtain panel visiblity, then select all instances in view. You should then be able to change the location line.

Thanks for the idea, but in my file that didn't work.

Did you check the filter dialog to see if you only have Walls selected?
And make sure you only have Basic Walls selected.

As suggested, curtain walls do not have a location line so you need to be sure you have no curtain walls selected. You can turn them off prior to selecting all the other walls.

Also if any of the walls are in a group they can't be edited outside of the editing the group.

Generally the way we do this is using "Select All instances" on each wall type. Have not had the need to change location lines, but other instance propeties. It should be easy unless you have 5000 wall types, and if you do the question should be why do you have 5000 wall types
