Demolish Shaft

Here is the deal. I am working on a renovation project and we are filling in several exisiting shafts. These were draw as shafts and then "demo". I then fill in with a new slab. I have done this before with great results. Now when I demolish the shaft it doesn't really disapear I just can't select it anymore. I'm still really trying to get to the root of this, but has anyone experienced anything similar to this or know of any workarounds?

I've not yet been able to get the shaft tool to follow phasing.

What I've done as a workaround is to create a floor based parametric opening family (generic model) which just has an opening constrained to the dimensioned reference planes within the family.

I then use this to cut the opening in each floor, by placing on one floor then copy/paste it on to the other levels.

Then demolish the openings & create the infill piece. You can do a join geometry if you don't want to see the boundary between the floor & infill.
