I found the flux architect text that is very similar to our old architext font we used for AutoCAD. The problem is that when we select the text box and go into editor all the characters change to boxes (see example images). Obviously, this is pretty difficult to type accurate annotation in.

After some research the best I can come up with is that (like Word does) for some reason Revit reads it as a foreign language and defaults to the squares.

Anyone know why this would occur or how to fix it?

Admit you're not doing hand drafting, and use Arial?

FONT MAPPING MIGHT WORK:

But seriously, folks.
We use a couple of special characters on our Sheet Index, and it has the same problem. They are in the upper region of the font - in the UniCode area, & I assume Revit just doesn't deal with that properly.
It boils down to that Text Edit box - somehow fonts get mapped in there differerntly than they do when they are on screen or printed.
I'm afraid I don't have an answer. We just used a different character.
I believe I submitted this as a bug a while ago, but as far as I know, nothing has changed.

We use ARchitxt.ttf

no trouble here with weird boxes.

Thanks Dave...Your comment about the hand drawing issue has been mentioned numerous times without avail:(

Nevertheless, i figured it was the way the font was mapped to the font editor. Its unfortunate because that is a really nice font. I found the Archtxt, but the 'higher-ups' think it is too fat and blobby. Oh well...

Thanks anyway!
