I'm fairly new at 3d modeling and am having a few problems with my layouts that I cannot seem to resolve.

--I've got a 3d model that I've taken and dimensioned orthographically in a new layout. All dimensions are in paperspace. One of the dimensions are correct as to how I need it to show. The rest of the them seem to be at another linear dimension scale than the rest. DIMASSOC is set to 2. I cannot seem to get the settings right in my dimension styles to duplicate the desired effect. As a shortcut...I simply MATCHPROP all the dimensions to the one I want....and a short time later....they all revert back to the original properties!?! :banghead: What is it that I am doing wrong?

--In the same orthographic layout, I also have another view simply showing the object in 3d w/o dimensions. This 3d view has lines that are supposed to be there, but are not showing for some reason in the view. I go to modelspace to check and it's fine, but I can't get them to show.

--Also, in another viewport, I'm showing a rear view of the object that should display hidden lines from the front view, but they aren't there. How can I get this to show?

I appreciate any and all help. Thanks.

Maybe, you can post the drawing?

... In the same orthographic layout, I also have another view simply showing the object in 3d w/o dimensions. This 3d view has lines that are supposed to be there, but are not showing for some reason in the view. I go to modelspace to check and it's fine, but I can't get them to show.

Setting the variable HIDEPRECISION to 1 might help with this one.

I have had problems which may be similar to yours. I would dimension geometry in the viewport and some dimensions would be correct, using the scale of the part, and some would use the scale of the layout. I found that if I dimension the part by dimensioning snap points in the opposite order, the proper scale would be used. You also need to be sure you are grabbing the correct snap points if you are dimensioning a 3D object. I use FLATSHOT to create a 2D version of the view and dimension that.

As for showing the 3D view in the same viewport, I use different viewports for my 2D and 3D objects in paperspace. I believe it gives you more control over your final drawing.
