Am I missing something here? I copied a file that was previously done in 6.1 and saved it in 7 so I could play around w/ some of the new features. However, I'm needing a square corner curtain wall mullion, but the only mullions loaded right now are the regular rectangular mullions. How do I load a corner mullion or any other type? If I expand the Curtain Wall Mullions under the Families section of the project browser, it only shows a + symbol next to Rectangular. If I right click on any of the types under Rectangular and go to Properties, it has all the options like depth, width, etc. However if I right click on say, Quad Corner Mullion, and choose New Type, there are no options for the new type under Quad Corner mullion. There are no fields to choose profile, sizes, etc. The only thing showing in the Properties box of the newly created mullion is Identity Data.

Now if I go to the properties of one of the Rectangular mullions and go to Edit/New, then I can duplicate it and make another size of rectangular mullion. However if I am in the properties box of one of those mullions, and change the Family pull down box to a different type of mullion, then the properties box becomes completely blank. I can't make a new type or anything.

So how do I get the corner mullions and other types into this project??

*edit* I opened a different project in 6.1 with all of these different types of mullions already loaded, and looked at the properties for the different types, and of course it doesn't list any profile associated with them. So where did those different mullions come from?

I should also mention that we had the same problem with this file (the one I copied to 7) back in 6.1, there were no mullions loaded and we couldn't figure out how to get them or create new ones. I think finally we ended up doing a transfer project standards on the mullions from another project, but still, we only got the rectangular mullion to work.

*edit again* Okay I tried opening a blank file in 7, and I see that there are mullions of each type already loaded when you start a new file. I'm thinking maybe a "Purge Unused" action may have gotten rid of the mullion types that weren't currently being used in the project. So how do I get them back?

Open a project with the mullions and >> Transfer Project Settings into the one without.

I opened a new project and tried to transfer project standards, but Mullions wasn't in the list of things to transfer. So then I tried transferring everything, and it still didn't bring the mullions over.

The curtain wall mullions should be in one of the standard ootb templates.

Open those and check that they are loaded before transferring project standards.

...transferring project standards...Just was working on project standards earlier this week a little. Curtain Wall Mullions are not in the list of transferrable stuff.

If you open a stock Revit 7.0 template you'll find the mullions in the Family portion of the project browser. Open your project so that you have both open (blank template & project). Go to the blank template, chose the mullions listed under each type and copy to clipboard. Go to your project and Paste. Now you've got them back.

Another way is to set up a curtain wall that uses all of them and copy/paste the curtain wall into your project. (the other way is quicker, probably)

Steve is correct ( as always )

TPS has some inconsistencies and this is one of them.

This is a bug. I have a support request into ADT.

...have a support request into ADT...hmm...not sure we'll get fast response from them eh? :)

I've experienced this also a while back on an old file. Copy to clipboard and pasting into the project as Steve suggested worked for me...

EDIT: I just used the quick reply and noticed the title was lost, please note i didn't deliberately delete it... Anyway added it back in as i know you guys are cracking down on this.. :screwy:
