Why not keeping consistant commands in revit and cad applications ie zoom to fit in revit=zoom extent in cad .....etc !!!!! ????

the ZE shortcut in Revit is like "Zoom Extent", which is similar to Zoom to Fit..

it's the same end result

I think you mean:

"Why can't Revit be more like Autocad so I don't have to learn something new?"

We made Keyboard shortcuts in Revit:
ZF = Zoom Fit
ZE = Zoom Fit

as well as custom AutoCAD commands:
ZE = Zoom Extents
ZF = Zoom Extents

No matter which one you're used to, you can use them in both.

If you're not happy with making your own shortcuts, I'd ask:
Which one should we get rid of?

You are right, this is exactly what I meant,furthermore that is not the only new commands, there of course more & more and most of the time I believe that confusion will arise, KEEP SMILE
