View Full Version : Print Setups - where do they go?

Every time I print something from Revit I get a printer settings not compatible message. I then go into the printer properties, select a sheet, etc. I am usually prompted if I want to save these settings. Sometimes I do, but I can't really say why I do it because next time I open the file and go to print something I have to go through the whole exercise again. Does anyone know where the elephant graveyard is for all theses printer setups I have made over the last many months? This is not a major headache, as it is a couple of clicks to get things set up again, but I am just wondering what the point of saving these settings is if they disappear next session?

Hi Joef,
I am not at my office machine at the moment; however, I think I can help.
When you save a print setting, it asks for a name. The next time you print, there is a box in the print dialoge which normally says "default" and has the pull down arrow and browse button next to it.
Click on the arrow and your named print setting will appear as a pull down selection.

Hope I remembered this correctly.
Good luck
Steve

I have several projects that I have printed at one time or another. If I go back a day later to print that project the only two setups I have are in-session and default. I must have created custom setups dozens of times but they are never there for more than a day. Perhaps I will send this problem off to support as it appears a local problem. Perhaps someone from support will chime in here and save me some time. :-)
