I'm working on a drawing done in 6, but now that I've brought it into 7, the floor structure of the floor above shows on the plan below (which it wasn't doing in 6). I've checked the view range and it doesn't cut through. Help...

In 7.0 the structural members were changed to the way engineers thinks as opposed to architects. IE: from the top down. Either turn off the structural beams in the view, if there are no elements in this category that you do need to see... OR I'll have to check, but i think there is a way to override this in the family?

Could it be that you have Underlay set to level above in View properties ?

I don't have underlay on. So that's not it.
I've gone into the family and assigned it a new subcategory of "batten." I've used this work-around because I've also got angled columns (which are actually beams) that are the same category ("other") which I want shown on the drawings...
I think I should make an angled column family for next time...
