Topography help

If i can get some input on how I can fix this or advice on what I should do... it would be great.

So... I have managed to input the topography for the project, but now having issues with viewing the elevations. The 3d view (1st image) shows that the topography seems to be working with the buildings (or at least how it currently is). but the problem that i am having is when we add elevation views as shown in the 2nd image (2nd image - plan&elevation.jpg) it shows the cut of the earth but adds additional dirt above it.
when I adjusted the elevation range, it shows that there is nothing wrong with the topo (3rd image).

has anyone ever ran into this problem? if so, how did you fix it? is there a way to adjust this? please let me know. Thank you.

It has to do with the depth of the view showing what is beyond the cut plane. If you select the tip of the elevation callout, the depth of the view will be shown and you can adjust it. In elevation view I usually draw detail lines tracing the grade, then turn off the topo.
