Column is transparent

Unable to identify a reason why this structural column family I created is showing transparent. Any ideas on how I can fix this problem?

check the VG for an override by element or by category?

Make sure you aren't in wireframe visual style (which I don't think you are because it's shaded, but I thought I'd throw that out there anyway).

If you're in 2012, it might be set to ghosted. Also, the material could be set to some kind of gray glass...just a thought.
