View Full Version : 2012 - Starting view issue

Hey all, finally installed 2012 last Friday as I was busy getting a project out before that. Anyway I just upgraded our 2011 template and set the Starting View to be the title sheet view (a new project normally starts on the title sheet). I noticed that any future project saved from that template retains that Starting View setting.

The issue is that if a Starting View is set, it seems to not retain the "maximized" window setting. The starting view when opening the project shows up as a smaller window on my screen (within the maximized Revit program window). As such, I usually have to drag the window to the side and hit the Max button to get it to fill all available area left from the properties palette/PB and tool bars.

Anyone else tried the Starting View function and experienced this?

Yes! I have exactly the same problem, but alas no answers. Reduces the functionality of the feature I feel.
Anyone have a solution?
Maybe a support request to Autodesk is on the cards?

Hi...I'm wondering if you ever found a solution to this. I was on a support call for this issue for about an hour last night. Autodesk seemed unaware of the issue.

I am testing a new install of 2012 today to see if it is perhaps some of the add-ins and plug-ins that are causing the issue (I doubt it).

Have you been able to 'fix' it?

Thanks,
Heather

After running a few tests in the office and talking with Subscription support, they are reporting the case to development.

Our standard deployment is to have the "Enable recent file page" UNCHECKED, because all our projects are workset enabled and having it on has caused issues in the past. If you "Enable" this feature, you will find that you no longer have the 'not maximized' problem.

At least we now know what causes the issue...now to get it fixed.

I'll keep this thread updated if I hear back from Autodesk.

Thanks,
Heather

I decided to just not use the Starting Page feature, and we also do not use the Recent Files page for those very same reasons - worksharing issues.

You can just double-click the window bar to max the window
