Are objects the only thing I can make appear or disappear by changing the phasing. Can I make detail lines disappear? I want to show a bunch of existing countertops and use detail lines to define them because they will only be seen in plan view - as existing and then as demolished. I would like the line to be solid in existing phase and dashed in demolished phase, but this seems to only work with objects.

Use model lines. They act as part of the model and can be "demolished" like other objects. They will appear solid in existing, dashed when you demolish them and then disappear in new construction.

Another "Advantage" to using model lines is for your consultants (if your using any).
When we link in Arch files we cannot see detail lines or anything view specific unless we force that view as our "background" (which we rarely do).

Thanks! I did not think of the model lines because I have become used to detail lines because I don't have to think about drawing planes. Since I am dealing with plan views, I wont have to deal with that when I use the model lines.
