View Full Version : Scale command and AEC Objects, not working

Here's my scenerio. I am trying to detail out the piping for a job that is drawn in Metric. I found it easier to scale down the contract dwgs by a factor of "0.03937" and overlay all of my piping and such. But upon rescale of my dwg, factor of "25.4", the AEC Objects don't scale. In an earlier thread I suggested the notion of convert to 3d solids, which indeed works for scale, but this only works for some of the objects. WC's don't want to scale. Is there something that i'm missing that relates to what i'm trying to do?

how about leaving the original objects and the whole dwg in imperial scale and xref this into your view dwg and scale up the whole dwg?

There is a setting on the drawing set up dialog box for scaling objects inserted into a dwg.

thus your original is still in imperial but the xref/inserted dwg is scaled up automatically into a dwg that is based on a metric template.

sound like a possible solution?

Yes, thank you. That is a possible solution but I just exploded the object then scale. This seems to work fine for the visual purposes that I'm after.
