View Full Version : Plan view behavior issue

I have attached an image of the problem I'm experiencing. The new walls I draw are inconsistant when it comes to the way they display. They all appear to have the same settings: height, workset, bearing condition, and all are the same Type.
But for some reason some have a thicker line at the core or finish when displayed in plan view. I have checked the Object Styles and Visability Properties and there is nothing there I can see doing this. And it is happening for other folks in our office.
We are using Revit 2011 for Architecture.
Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

They all appear to have the same settings: height, workset, bearing condition, and all are the same Type.
Given this, does it persist if you close and reopen the view, or even the project? Sounds like a display anomaly, rather than a rogue setting that is intentionally showing it that way...

I have tried the closing and re-opening the file and the issue persists. I thought it might be a display problem as well, but as you can see it printed the way it looks.
You should come up now ... the weather is starting to warm up!

Are the walls you're drawing supposed to be "existing"? If so, make sure you're in a view with the phase set to "Existing" when you draw them.
In Revit, objects are assigned to the phase that is active for the views in which the object is created. In your particular example, it looks like the wall with the dark border and gray fill should be in the existing phase, but was probably drawn in a view with the phase set to "New Construction" or something similar.
Select one of the walls that shows up correctly, and in the properties palette, scroll all the way to the bottom and see what it says next to "Phase Created". Select the wall that's not showing up the right way, and make sure it was "created" in the same phase.

You may have a view that has gone Sarah Palin, I mean rogue. I get this sometimes, and the best thing to do is jettison and create the view again.

I want to thank you all for the good suggestions. However, like most things it was the last thing I would have thought had happened to the project. Like when the service tech ask you if your computer is plugged in the fix rises to that occassion.
We have a rule in our office to not place controls which create too many unique conditions. In this case one of the production staff had placed a graphic override on some of the walls. This was in response to a request by the project manager via a client "comment". Again, an office policy this was not!
So, what I did this morning was select all the walls (individually :?) and removed the graphic override - again "is the computer plugged in?".....
The pm and I are scheduled for a conversation shortly ...
Thanks again
